The Survival Contradiction in T4N0 Colorectal Cancer

Patients with T4N0 colon cancer have a high risk of recurrence. It is the only version of stage III colon cancer that does not require a person to have involved lymph nodes. The additional adjuvant chemotherapy portion of treatment is extremely important since the likelihood of recurrence is higher than in patients with smaller tumors that have involved lymph nodes (T1-2N1). https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9683985/pdf/ECAM2022-4088117.pdf

Hepatic Artery Infusion for Colorectal Cancer

Hepatic artery infusion was initially studied before the era of highly effective chemotherapy for that disease. Interestingly, it is making a comeback as something that could (or should) be used in modern times, and early in the disease process. Here is an interesting article I came across, with response rates and survival times that are truly impressive. https://link.springer.com/article/10.1245/s10434-023-14305-6
